Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION:
I understand that St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation funds St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre and Stedman Community Hospice. Can I designate my donation to one of these areas?

ANSWER:
Many people give gifts to St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation without a designation, which allows for greater flexibility so that the Foundation can apply these unrestricted gifts to where the need is most urgent. However, you are welcome to choose Long-Term Care or Hospice if you prefer to designate your gift in this way.

QUESTION:
Will my donation stay in Brantford?

ANSWER:
Yes, every dollar raised by St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation stays in our community.

QUESTION:
Now that Stedman Community Hospice receives partial government funding, are donations still necessary?

ANSWER:
Absolutely. The government only funds a portion of the Hospice's programs and services. Donations are essential to ensure that the Foundation can continue to fund urgently needed programs, so that no family ever receives a bill.

QUESTION:
Long-Term Care costs are covered by the monthly accommodation fees of the Residents of the Home. Does the Long-Term Care program at St. Joe's need donations?

ANSWER:
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care provides funding for only the bare essentials for our Residents who require daily accommodations, programs and support services, nursing and meals. At St. Joe's we are committed to offering value added programs and services to enrich the lives of our Residents which we can only support with the help of your donations.
