“
It is extremely difficult for a parent to leave their child but I feel completely comfortable leaving my children in the care of Y childcare staff. They are qualified, reliable and reassuring and genuinely care about the well being of the children and put concerned parents like me at ease!”
- A Brantford Y Child Care Parent
St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre is committed to bringing life, laughter and learning into daily living for the residents. We are developing a unique program, which brings children on site to a licenced childcare centre designed to lend itself to intergenerational programming with interested residents of the Lifecare Centre. This environment helps to create a genuine homelike atmosphere, which can enhance quality of life and living experiences.
The Brantford YMCA-YWCA applies their knowledge and experience in delivering high quality day care to the operation of this childcare centre right here at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. Many studies have revealed the social benefits of this innovative type of programming. Our ultimate goal is to provide another element of care that blends the needs of two special populations – our children and our elderly.
WHAT IS INTERGENERATIONAL PROGRAMMING?
